Report: Govt wants Finland's Gasum to stop Russian LNG imports
HELSINKI, Aug 9 (PRIME) -- Finland's state energy company Gasum must stop imports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Russia, Minister for European Affairs and Ownership Steering Tytti Tuppurainen told Helsingin Sanomat on Tuesday.
"LNG imports from Russia must stop, because Finland and Europe at large must get rid of Russian energy. This is the will of the state owner, this was also stated in the European Council report," the official said.
Gasum imports LNG under a long-term deal with a Russian supplier, and unilateral termination could result in compensation payments, the newspaper reported.
